South Mewad field is located at a distance of about 7 Kms. south of Mehsana town and it lies in the western side of main Sobhasan Field and south of Mewad field. The South Mewad field is an integral part of Sobhasan Complex. Sobhasan complex is situated in Mehsana-Ahmedabad block of Cambay basin. It is a multi-layered reservoir, where oil and gas were found in two stratigraphic levels, i.e., Mandhali and BCS from bottom to top.

BVOEL was awarded with this field under the PEC – III agreement with ONGC. BVOEL has plans to improve the field oil and gas production by implementing various field and reservoir development activities. These might include 3D seismic evaluation and interpretation, drilling, well stimulation techniques, hydraulic fracturing.
